General Information and PhilosophyRobert J. Rubin has been practicing law since 1972 in the States of Maine and Illinois. During this time the majority of his practice has consisted of civil and criminal litigation representing both individuals and businesses in commercial disputes including contract disputes, securities fraud cases, construction litigation, real estate litigation, personal injury suits, civil rights litigation, and employment discrimination litigation.
In 1998, Mr. Rubin moved his main law practice to the State of Maine where he now lives with his family in Rockport, Maine. The Maine office of Robert J. Rubin presently handles all types of civil and criminal disputes including domestic relations matters, real estate purchase and sales, and business formation and acquisition. His criminal defense practice includes all types of felony and misdemeanor matters. In order to handle complex civil matters which requires more than one attorney, Mr. Rubin has associated with the Law Office of Dana Strout in a partnership of Rubin and Strout, P.A. This association brings together attorneys with over 55 years of legal experience in complex litigation. Mr. Rubin also maintain a Chicago practice which continues to handle matters for long standing clients. The Chicago office is limited to only civil litigation and maintains an association with the Law Office of David H. Latham located in downtown Chicago.
Mr. Rubin lectured on numerous topics at the Chicago Bar Association and participated in speaking panels on subjects involving alternative dispute resolution, international litigation, expert witnesses and complex litigation. Prior to practicing law in Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Rubin was an Instructor of Law at Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana where he taught Legal Writing. Mr. Rubin was also a Ford Foundation Fellow with the Washington D. C. Police Department. Mr. Rubin's goal is to provide to his clients the highest level of individual attention.
